Collapse of Dwajasthambham

The 150 feet Dwajasthambham of the 300 year old Ksheera Ramalingeswara Swamy temple in Palakollu of West Godavari collapsed on the early hours of Friday November 2, 2012. Devotees feel that the collapse of the dwajasthambham was inauspicious. The temple committee chairman Shivaji said that a technical committee appointed by the Government has visited the temple and confirmed that the 'Gali Gopuram' is safe but could not check the inner condition of the 'Dwajasthambham'.
