The very name of Rudraksha is Rudra is the name of Lord Shiva and Akshi means tear drops falling from the eyes of Lord Shiva. The Rudrakshas are from the plants which are believed to be grown from the tear of drops of Lord Shiva.

The Rudrakshas are available in Nepal, Indonesia, Jawa islands and also in Kerala. The Rudraksha plants can grow into big trees to a hight of 60 feet with think foliage and appear like other common trees such as mango trees. As the leaves ripen, white flowers bloom at the base of the leaves. The fruits look like small Guava fruits with a think and hard pigment and contain soft pulp inside. The seed of the fruit is the Rudraksha.

The sees have lines on the surface which traverse from upper end to lower end. These lines re also called faces of the Rudrakshas. They are named depending on the number of lines noted on the seed. Generally, Rudrakshas with one face to fourteen faces ie., Eka Mukhi to Chaturda Mukhi are available. The Rudrakshas available in Nepal are of superior quality.

One can verify the genuineness of Rudraksha by doing a simple test. Two copper coins and a Rudrakshas are required for the test. The hand should be rested on a flat surface and place a Rudraksha on a coin held on the palm Other copper coin should be held with other hand very near to the Rudraksha carefully not touching it. One can observe that the Rudraksha starts rotating around its own axis that proves that it has electro magnetic power. Only such Rudrakshas are considered as live by intellectuals and are considered suitable for wearing. If the seed fails the test, it is not suitable for wearing or worship and is considered as an artificial or an imitation.

Eka Mukhi Rudraksha

It is referred as the incarnation of Lord Shiva. A single faced Rudraksha symbolizes true and supreme spiritual pervading the entire universe. People who wear attain knowledge about the real state of the supreme spirit and will gradually the capability of becoming self conquered over materialistic desires. It is a rare variety and it is nearly impossible to get such Rudraksha. This is available in semi lunar moon shape and the round and golden yellow color and shine. Those who wear this Rudraksha seldom face defeat and will be able to get all powers. The person who wear this Rudraksha should wear on Monday duly energized. The ruling planet of this Rudraksha is Sun God.

Dwi Mukhi Rudraksha

A Rudraksha that has two faces and is considered the form of half man and half women incarnation of Lord Shiva and Goddess Gowri. The people who wears this Rudraksha will lead a happy and prosperous life. By wearing this Rudraksha, people will get peace of mind, concentration and Philosophical thinking It will also improve the planetary support to the individual and will hep in getting prosperous.

Tri Mukhi Rudraksha

This Rudraksha will have three facets in the form of Lord Agni. The people who wear this Rudraksha are blessed by Lord Agni who will protect from all ailments. The Rudraksha should be prayed after abhishekam in the temple of Lord Shiva and should be worn on Monday. By wearing this Rudraksha the person will get relieved of all his sins. Chaturmukhi Rudraksha

This Rudraksha will have four facets and in the form of Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe. Those who wear will achieve all the expected results and receive appreciations. If a concoction is made after smearing the Rudraksha in milk and is taken as taken as a drink in adequate dosage orally, all the eye diseases will be cured. Dasamukhi Rudraksha

The Rudraha will have ten facets and is the form of Lord Narayana. It is believed that the vey sight of the Rudraksha gives peace and cleans one from all sins. It gives beneficial effect in the dealings related to court and justice. It is otherwise called the direct form of Lord Vishnu. The natives should wear this after duly energizing in Lord Shiva Temple on Monday.

Ekadasmukhi Rudraksha

The Rudraksha will have eleven facets and is the form of Lord Anjaneya. Those who wears this Rudraksha will win over all situations. This will act as the sixth sense of the people. This Rudraksha should be worn on Monday duly energized and the ruling planet is Sukra.
