Solar Eclipse

Backgrounder

The Solar eclipse falls in Karkataka Rasi, Pushyami and Aslesha stars. As per IST the eclipse begins at 4.28pm to 6.08pm. The eclipse according to New York time is visible in New York in the evening 5.21.07 to 7.21.07. Necessary remedial measures have to be taken for all the twelve zodiac signs for the eclipse. Especially natives with the stars of Pushyami, Anuradha, Uttarabhadra, Aslesha, Jeysta and Revati and those born in Karkataka Rasi have invariably perform remedial measures. This eclipse effects the countries Canada, Greenland, Central Arctic, Russia, Mongolia and China. These countries may likely to face some problems.

In detail..

2008 is a year with four eclipses. The first one, the Solar Eclipse occured on February 7, 2008 and is followed by a Total Lunar eclipse on February 21, 2008. The third one falls is a Total Solar eclipse on August 1 while the final one is a Partial Lunar Eclipse that occurs on August 16, 2008.

Eclipses play a vital role as their occurrences indicate grave events like droughts, famines, earthquakes, etc., impacting the inhabitants and their rulers, more often badly and therefore it becomes necessary for us to study their effects so that necessary preventive action can be planned. Eclipses are said to affect individuals more adversly to those whose birth stars are in the concerned of the respective eclipse.

The eclipse that occurs on August 1, 2008 will appear as follows:

Eclipse begins at 13 hrs 34 min
Totality begins at 14 hrs 53 min
Maximum of eclipse 15 hrs 17 min
Totality ends at 16 hrs 51 min
Eclipse ends 18 hrs 08 min

The eclipse will be visible in the region covering Northern and Eastern part of North America, Greenland, Northern Europe and Asia except Japan. In India, it will be visible as a partially eclipse. The eclipse takes place in the constellation of Pushya; the eclipse affects persons born with the stars Punarvasu, Pushyami, Aslesha, Anuradha and Uttarabhadra and they should perform remedial measures as the customs.

The Total Solar eclipse occurring in Karkataka Rasi will have adverse effect, exclusively to individuals and countries in whose cases Karkataka happens to be the 1st, 4th, 7th and 8th (if badly aspected), 10th and 12th from their lagna. As far as India is concerned this eclipse falls in the Kanya, and falls in the 11th house and no notable adverse fall out may be expected due to this eclipse.

In South India, the remedial measures are that the natives will be on fasting and after completion of the eclipse cleanse the house and have bath and go to a temple and offer Rudrabhishekam to Lord Shiva. The manta for solar eclipse is:

‘Indranalo dandadharascha rikshaha prachethase vaayu kubera eeshaha
Majjamma rikshe mama raasi samsthe arkoparaagam shamayanthu sarve
